Atlantic Center for the arts
The Atlantic Center for the Arts is an arts education facility dedicated to promoting artistic excellence by providing talented artists an opportunity to work and collaborate with some of the world’s most distinguished contemporary artists in music composition, and the visual, literary, and performing arts. The complex is located on a wooded 69-acre ecological preserve.
The Visitor Center and Gallery is the most recent of eight structures that were designed for the Atlantic Center by Will Miller. The design brings together into a cohesive statement the various design elements and materials that have been built over nearly 35 years on the campus. Materials include exposed sandblasted formed-in-place concrete, exposed heavy timber cedar beams, exposed polished concrete flooring, large sheets of butt-joined glass, and wood pole construction which was used on the original award winning structures designed by Will Miller.
